The Association des Anciens du Lycée was delighted to be part of the organising committee to celebrate the 60th Anniversary in 2012.
On Friday 14th September we welcomed dignitaries from both the French and British Governments, notably the Rt.Hon Michael Gove, MP. Secretary of State for Education, and His Excellency M.Bernard Emié, French Ambassador to the United Kingdom. Also present was
Mme. Elisabeth Gaudin, daughter of Proviseur Gaudin, who unveiled a commemorative plaque.
A musical recital by pupils, led by the Lycées M. Muller was followed by a drinks reception.
On Saturday afternoon the school opened its doors to past and present pupils and parents, who came together to celebrate the British Section and its achievements over the years - debates, musical performances, exhibitions and a fashion show followed by Afternoon Tea.
The festivities concluded with a dinner held in the school refectoire, whose walls had been decorated with hand painted panels portraying former students, staff and world events of the previous 60 years.
All in all a great way to celebrate sixty years of the British Section.
